The CAS CN1 label printing scales are the new updated model that replace the popular LP1 series (LP 1.5, LP 1.7, LP1000) and CL5200 scales that are widely used in butchers, delis, grocers and small supermarkets.

The CAS CN1 has a modern, dark grey coloured design, a 7" colour dual-sided pole display, and a strong die-cast aluminium chassis designed to provide accurate and secure weighing performance. The solid build quality of the CAS CN1 ensures durability to provide years of reliable usage. The larger coloured screen display ensures ease of use. A user-friendly menu-driven interface allows you to quickly and easily change selling prices and add new products to the scale.


Currencies
The CN1 allows the default currency to be pre-configured prior to despatch. The standard model is UK £pounds and Kg. We can also pre-configure it to show and print prices in € Euros, making it suitable for use in Ireland and other EU countries too. We can also configure the scale to operate in $ Dollars as it can be used in the Caribbean. See Model options above.

The CN1 is a dual-resolution scale. It will weigh in 2g increments upto 6kg, and in 5g increments between 6kg-15kg. Items can be sold by weight or by quantity. For example, Beef can be sold per Kg, Burgers can be sold for £3 each.

GENERIC LABEL OR PRODUCT-SPECIFIC LABELS
You may simply print a generic label by entering the "Price per Kg" on the keypad or the quantity - this can be done instantly without any programming - it will print the Price per Kg or Qty, the Weight of the item, the Calculated price and the printed date on each barcode label. Or you can program and preset your individual products and price rates for a product-specific label with the Product Name, Price per Kg, Calculated Weight & Price, Barcode, Packed on Date and optional Sell By date (or Use By date - see Template Option above). Origin, Ingredients/Allergens (upto 510 characters maximum), Traceability details and Nutritional data can be included but for these extra details you will need to use larger size labels.

MEDIUM OR LARGE LABEL SIZE

CAS label rolls have a pre-printed graphic template. There are multiple standard template formats to choose from. With the PC software you can design your own label template or make adjustments to existing templates. Label PLU content can be: PLU name, ingredients / allergies, packed-on date, sell by date, unit price, weight, total price, store name & address, time, plu number and barcode. Alternatively you can purchase blank label rolls and, using the optional CL Works Pro program, completely design your own label template.




COUNTER MODE OR PRE-PACK MODE
In PrePack mode, the CAS CN-1 machine can be used for pre-packed items to speedily label your produce for distribution or retail display. In standard Register mode it can be used at the point-of-sale counter for instant weighing and price labelling items. The 'Add' function allows you to add multiple items together to produce an overall transaction total and a customer total barcode label for affixing to an outer bag or box for easy scanning at the checkout.

PRICE FLEXIBILITY
You can either manually enter the 'Per Kg' price or unit price using the MISC keys, select preset PLU's that have the prices pre-defined, or use the 'Override' feature for temporary price entry. Discount functions are also included allowing either a manually applied Percentage % discount or a pre-set automated discount amount or percentage based on quantity. For example, 1 lemon is £0.40, 3 lemons are £1.00. Automated discounts can also be time controlled, eg. 'after 3pm on weekdays' or set globally to apply to all products.

TARE FEATURE
The Tare feature allows you to exclude the weight of your box, bowl, jar or other container. You can also set a pre-defined tare weight with a PLU record.

DATES
The CN1 can be set up to include the packed date/time, sell or use by date/time.

BARCODE FOR POS SYSTEMS
The barcode format can be set from one of the universal symbologies (EAN, UPC, CODE128, GS1, DATABAR or Int2of5) with either price-embedded or weight-embedded and are compatible with almost all cash registers and touchscreen POS scanning systems. QR Code is optionally supported.

NON-WEIGHED ITEMS
If you sell loose items that are sold by fixed price (not by weight), then the 'For' function can also be used to price those items and print a barcode label. Or the PLU can be programmed to prompt the operator for the quantity.

REPORTS
The CAS CN1 scale prints different types of reports showing Total Sales (number of transactions, total amount), Individual PLU Sales (total weight, total no. of sales, total value) and Non-PLU Sales (total weight, total no. of sales, total value).

Notes about the CN1:

1. CHARACTER LIMIT FOR INGREDIENTS/ALLERGENS
The CN1 is an entry level machine so is limited to 510 characters (including any spaces, brackets, commas etc) for the Ingredients/Allergens list for each PLU.

2. HIGHLIGHTING WORDS IN INGREDIENTS
The optional PC software has a label designer which allows you to change the font size and Bold a particular field such as Ingredients. But you may not Bold particular words within a field, you can only Bold the entire list. So if you wanted to highlight particular allergens, for example, you would need to PUT THEM IN CAPITALS.

3. ITEMS SOLD "PER 100G"
PLU items can either be sold by weight "Per Kg" or "Per Unit Price". eg. Beef Cubes can be £8.50 Per Kg, and Lemons can be £0.60 each. However, it does not readily support low weight items priced "Per 100g" - you would need to set the Price "Per Kg".

We send you a form to complete with a list of your items and their Price Per Kg or Price Each (prices can easily be updated afterwards too) and sell by days and any barcode format requirements and label layout requirements. We then configure the scale and professionally label the keys, so your pre-programmed Label Printing Scale is delivered ready for immediate use. You can also include your shop details and graphic logo on the label design.

The standard Programming Service fee covers set up of your store name/logo, telephone number and names / prices of upto 72 products and set up of 1 label template. Your product data will need to be provided to us in a text format (eg. Word/Excel document). If you have additional products and/or require advanced features such as recipe, ingredients, multiple template designs or other content on the label(s) please contact us with your requirements for a programming quote.

CAS CN1 - PC SOFTWARE: (Optional)
Basic programming may be done directly on the scale, it is not necessary to use the optional PC software. But if you have many items to program, or you update your product details and prices frequently, then it is easier to do so using the PC software. The PC software would be required to edit the label layout or to create your own design.

CL-Works Pro is a user-friendly Windows-based software app that allows the CAS CN1 scale to be easily and quickly programmed. Using on-screen menus and screens on your computer or laptop you can add and amend PLU descriptions and prices, ingredients text, label content and store information. It is supplied at a discounted price when purchased with the CN1 scale.
