2D Retail Barcodes
The industry is gradually transitioning from the conventional 1D EAN/UPC barcodes to the enhanced 2D (QR Code GS1 Data Link and GS1 Data Matrix) format. Whereas the 1D barcodes only contain the product barcode number (identifying the country, manufacturer and product code), the new 2D codes can incorporate more information such as Expiry Date, Batch/Lot No., Weight and links to other product details such as ingredients, allergens and dietary information.

Note*: Some optional cloud-based modules such as remote back office and card payment integration do require a subscription with ongoing monthly/annual fees - this will be made clear to you at the time of order - there are no hidden extras. Our main POS systems do not require any ongoing cloud-connection or license fees, they come with a lifetime license.
