Barcode Scanning Tills for All Types of Retail Shops
Our scanning tills are very popular with convenience stores, grocers, newsagents, minimarkets, supermarkets and other busy retail outlets that require fast, accurate registering of sales and itemised management reports without the expense of a touchscreen POS system or internet connection. Optional PC software and a data cable is available for most cash registers to perform programming and transfer data for reporting.
Optional Setup, Installation & Training Services
Prices above are for supply only. On checkout, please choose the optional Programming and Training services with your purchase if these services are required. We can supply the scanning till and barcode scanner for you to setup, or optionally provide a full installation and training service to help you to get the most of the system and be up and running immediately - see our
Cash Register Services section.
Single Printer or Dual Printer
Our barcode scanning tills with Single Printer (NR510R, ER-925) allow you to print customer receipts (on request) as well as the end of day financial reports. Our scanning tills with Dual Printer (NR-520R, ER-945) also have a 2nd journal printer that automatically records all till activity with date and time on an internal audit roll.
What is a PLU?
PLU stands for Price Look Up and effectively refers to a specific product. For example, a 'Coca Cola Can 330ml' would be one PLU, a 'Tango Orange Can 330ml' would be another PLU. Usually the manufacturers barcode (EAN/UPC) is used as the PLU code.
Barcoded items are simply scanned, and the preset price and product name registers automatically. For non-barcoded items you can type in the price manually on the keyboard and press a department key.
All stock items of the same product have the same PLU code. So if you have 20 cans of Coca Cola 330ml, they all have the same PLU code so represent the same 1 plu position. PLU refers to the product identifier, not to the stock quantity.
All of our scanning tills allow you to report sales of each PLU, for daily sales and for 1 or 2 other periods (eg. weekly, monthly). Only
some of the advanced scanning tills - such as the NR520R and ER-945 - also allow stock management, so you can book in your opening stock levels and new stock deliveries then, as you sell items, the till will deduct the stock quantity and keep track of how many stock items are left for each PLU. These advanced tills also produce stock level reports.
If you require more sophisticated stock management with a system that is much easier to use with stock re-order levels, supplier details, cost price / gross profit reporting, and a wider range of sales analysis reports then see our
Touchscreen Retail POS Systems.
