Product Information


The CAS CL5500-D is a high end label printing scale designed for busy supermarkets, butchers, delis, fishmongers and farm shops. 'D' stands for Double Body where the label printer, operator keypad and dual-sided displays are on the upper body, and the scale is on the base.

It has a large platter with rail, a raised operator pad and it can be programmed either directly or optionally with PC software on a PC/Laptop. Sales reports can be obtained and multiple scales can be networked together. The keypad of the CAS CL5500-D has 72 preset keys for your most popular items, with additional items selectable by Shift level and PLU number. Over 10,000+ PLU's (products) can be defined depending on memory configuration.

The CL-5200-P allows upto 510 characters in the Ingredients / Allergens description field.

This labelling scale also has 4 programmable function keys for your common requirements such as discounts or storing bills when serving multiple customers.



DIRECT PROGRAMMING
The CL-5500D can be readily used in open price mode, straight out of the box. Simply place your item on the scale, type in the Price per Kg, then press 'Print' to print the standard format price label.

For faster use, you can preset your shop details and product data. The CL-5500D scale can be basically programmed directly from its keypad with the on-screen menu and function keys. You can program product names, update prices and add most other product details such as expiry date, ingredients and traceability data. To edit the label templates and update advanced settings, or if you make changes frequently to your products/prices, then you can use CL Works Pro software - see details below.

LABEL MEDIA SIZES
For labels, you can use either standard CAS Labels (58x40mm or 58x60mm with pre-printed template), or blank labels allowing you to choose from one of 45 pre-designed label formats or customise your own layout and content with the PC software.

For template rolls, choose from 2 popular label roll sizes:

BARCODE FORMATS
The CAS labelling scale can readily print embedded barcodes for use with your POS system. The barcode format can be configured to include a prefix, the item code, and either the price or the weight, as required by your POS system. All common 1D barcode formats are supported including UPC, EAN13, EAN13A5, CODE128, CODE39, CODE93, CODABAR, I2OF5, IATA2OF5.

Notes about the CL5500:

1. CHARACTER LIMIT FOR INGREDIENTS/ALLERGENS
The machine is limited to 510 characters (including any spaces, brackets, commas etc) for the Ingredients/Allergens list for each PLU.

2. MARKING WORDS IN BOLD
The optional PC software has a label designer which allows you to change the font size and Bold a particular field such as Ingredients. But you may not Bold particular words within a field, you can only Bold the entire list. So if you wanted to highlight Allergens, for example, you would need to PUT THEM IN CAPITALS or have a separate field with Allergens listed separately.

3. ITEMS SOLD "PER 100G"
PLU items can either be sold by weight "Per Kg" or "Per Unit Price". eg. Beef can be £8.50 Per Kg, and Lemons can be £0.60 each. However, it does not readily support low weight items priced "Per 100g" - you would need to set the Price "Per Kg".

CL WORKS PRO - PC SOFTWARE (optional)
For frequent programming, advanced settings and label template editing the labelling scale can be connected to a Windows PC/Laptop for installation of the easy-to-use CAS CL Works Pro software. The CL Works Pro PC based software is optionally available with the CL-5500D label printing scale. This program is easy to install - we provide step-by-step instructions, and easy to use.

With CL Works Pro you can:
* Program your product details and prices
* Define ingredients and allergy instructions
* Define traceability details
* Set up and customise your own label formats and layout
* Include your logo and other graphics on the label
* Define different departments and product groups
* Produce sales reports
* Design and print the Keyboard Sheet for the preset keys.
* Update prices quickly and easily as and when required (even daily)

Networking support allows multiple scales to be inter-linked for ease of programming and reporting. From one PC/Laptop, you can program and update multiple scales as well as download sales data for reporting purposes.

To connect the CL-5500D scale with CL Works Pro software, you will need a Windows PC/Laptop and you will need to network the scale to your Ethernet Router with a CAT5 cable - see additional details for CL Works Pro.

PROGRAMMING SERVICE (optional)
With our optional Programming Service we send you a form to complete with a list of your items and their Price Per Kg (prices can easily be updated afterwards too). We then configure the CAS CL-5500D scale and professionally label the keypad, so your Label Printing Scale is delivered ready for immediate use.

The programming fee covers the technician's time to unpack the factory-packed scale, connect the display and load the required label roll, prepare the colour-coded keyboard template, program the individual PLU's with their descriptions, prices and group, test everything, then dismantle and re-box the scale. This is around 4-5 hours work and is typically scheduled within 2-3 working days.

The standard service provides for programming your shop name and telephone number and upto 72 items and prices. If you would like additional products or other data (such as ingredients, traceablility, nutritional facts etc) programmed please contact us by phone to discuss your requirements for a quote.

ON-SITE INSTALLATION & OPERATOR TRAINING (optional)
We can also optionally provide on-site installation and training on this label printing scale - please call with your address for a quote.
