Product Information


The 2985-SX is a top of the range banknote counter, with dual pocket, that allows both counting and sorting of banknotes.

It has 5 different modes:
MIX: value counting of unsorted banknotes with counterfeit detection
SINGLE: value counting of sorted banknotes with counterfeit detection
FACE: sorts banknotes by facing (back / front)
ORIENT: sorts banknotes by orientation (up / down)
COUNT: free sheet counting, all currencies, without counterfeit detection

Suitable for £Sterling new £5 £10 £20 and £50 notes.

The Value feature also shows the monetary value of notes counted. You can place multiple denominations of the same currency at the same time in the hopper. (For GBP, USD and EUR you can also mix the currencies in the same batch).

The Sorting feature is able to face all banknotes in the same direction, and orient them all face upwards.

The hopper handles upto 500 banknotes at a time, new notes can be introduced as the machine is counting.

Counting and Enhanced Counterfeit checking on 10 currencies:
EUR, GBP, CHF, USD, CZK, PLN, BGN, SEK, NOK, DKK, HUF

In free counting mode, without counterfeit detection, the 2985SX can count all other world currencies, as well as vouchers, tickets and coupons.

Value Counting (with mixed denominations) on 7 currencies:
GBP, EUR, CHF, USD, CZK, PLN, BGN

Value Counting (with mixed denominations and mixed currencies) on 3 currencies:
GBP, EUR and USD.

The Serial Number scanning feature is compatible with GBP, EUR, USD and CHF. Scanned serial numbers can be printed on the optional printer or exported as a file using the included MCS Windows-based money counting software. The 2985-SX is suitable for police use where recording of banknote serial numbers is a evidential requirement for seized currency.

The 2nd pocket (with 50 note capacity) is used as a Reject Pocket so suspect notes are automatically ejected without having to pause the counting process. The pocket is also used by the machine during sorting for facing and orienting banknotes.

It has undergone Bank of England On-site Certification with a 100% pass rate for detecting known counterfeit GBP banknotes. see Bank of England Machine Tests page.
