The new CAS PDN POS integrated retail scale is an affordable unit for checkout counter use with compatible POS systems. It has a large stainless steel flat plate as standard. For containerised items, you can use the Tare and Zero buttons to use the net weight.

WEIGHING CAPACITY & READABILITY
The CAS PDN scale is available from TecStore in a Dual Range 6kg/15kg capacity - it works to 2g readability upto 6kg and 5g readability between 6-15kg. The dual range provides the benefits of greater accuracy for small or low-weight items, while providing a higher capacity for larger items.

CUSTOMER/OPERATOR DISPLAY
The PDN standard model has a 6-digit Dual-Display - an integrated operator display at the front, and a customer display on the side. The displays show the weight in Kg upto 3 decimal places. The integrated customer display can be fitted either to the left or the right of the machine, as required.

An optional Pole Display model is also available from TecStore with a 2metre cable - see Options above. This 2-sided external pole display can be positioned and fixed on your counter at the desired distance, height and angle.

EXTRA FUNCTIONS
The 'Tare' function allows use of an empty container such as a scoop, bowl, box or bag whose weight is then deducted from the overall weight. The 'Zero' function allows the scale to be reset back to 0.00g, for example, if the tare container is not to be used.

POS SCALE OPERATION
The PDN scale transmits the weight reading to your POS software, in turn your compatible POS system will read the weight and lookup and show the unit price and calculated price.

For example:
- Put your Apples on the scale
- On your pos software, you may press the button "Apples".
- The pos software will auto-read the weight from the scale and calculate the price from the 'per kg' rate for Apples.
* Most pos software will ask you if you wish to Accept the weight
- The pos software will then add the item/price to the transaction and print it on the bill

CONNECTION & COMMUNICATION
The CAS PDN POS integrated weighing scale can be programmed with different communication protocols, via its setup menu, to suit the required parameters for your POS system. A 9-pin RS232 Serial cable is included with the scale. Your POS terminal will require a 9-pin Male serial port.

If your POS terminal has an RJ50-type serial port then that can be used with RJ50-DB9 adapter cable (available separately for £25).

  

You will usually need to configure your POS software so it knows you have an integrated scale connected, with the COM port number and communication settings. On your products database, you may also need to tick which products are scale linked products, with their respective 'Per Kg' price.

POS SOFTWARE COMPATIBILITY
The CAS PDN replaces the popular CAS PDII. It is compatible with most of the mainstream retail POS software packages including ICR Touch, CES (Geller/Sentinel) Touch, SamTouch and InfiPos. For other pos software running on Windows or Android, please check prior to purchase with your app provider if it has been developed and tested to work with the CAS PDII or PDN scale.

Software that works with the former CAS PDII scale will readily work with the new CAS PDN, it is technically the same, only the machine outer design has been improved with a black casing and rounded edges and it uses a different type of USB 5v power supply.

Your POS terminal will require an integrated 9-pin RS232 serial port on its motherboard. (The USB port on the scale is for connection of the power supply only, not for data communication).

Please note: We do not support use of RS232 Serial-to-USB convertors/adapters for data communication with the PDN scale - if you opt to use an adapter/converter you would do so at your own risk and we do cannot guarantee your chosen device will work with the PDN scale due to considerations for pin configuration and device driver for your operating system version.
