Note: this Telephone Caller ID unit is only suitable for analog phone lines. By 2025, nearly all analog phone service providers in the UK will switch to digital services. This unit will not readily work with digital phone services, unless your Router has an analog port for legacy phone devices or an Analogue Telephone Adapter (ATA) - please check with your phone service provider (eg. BT, TalkTalk etc) prior to ordering.

The Comet Telephone Caller ID unit is a small hardware module that connects between your phone line and POS system terminal. It allows the incoming caller's telephone number to be displayed on the touchscreen, so the POS software can then identify the customer's Name, Address, Telephone Number and Previous Orders from the system.

This unit is compatible with the SamTouch POS software supplied by TecStore - see our POS Systems. Our price includes remote configuration for your pos software. For compatibility with other POS software programs please check with the app provider.

The unit is invaluable in busy take-away / food delivery environments as it saves significant time in not having to manually write down the caller's telephone number, name and address by hand using pen and paper. It also eliminates the risk of errors.

The operation of the unit is very simple:
When the Caller calls the first time, the telephone number will show on the POS system and you have the option to type in the caller's name and address and take their order. When the same Caller calls again, the system will automatically recall all the Name, Address and previous order details.

Special Notes:
Your telephone line must be a standard Analog telephone line to be compatible, with the Caller ID feature enabled by your telephone service provider (eg. BT, TalkTalk). The module will not work on a digital / pabx line, VOIP line, 'feature line' or other type of non-analog line.

Your phone socket must be within 1 metre of the till point, otherwise you will need to purchase a Telephone Extension Cable of the required length.

If you have other devices connected to the same telephone line (eg. telephone, answering machine etc) then the total 'REN' value of all the devices must not exceed 4.

If you have multiple telephone lines, then each line will require its own Telephone Caller ID module and be connected to its own POS terminal.
