On many new POS terminals, the older-type 9-pin DB9 RS232 Serial port may be an RJ50 type RS232 Serial port (looks like an Ethernet RJ45 port). Our Serial interface printers will work with either type of serial port, but you may also need to purchase an RJ50-DB9 adapter.

Paper Width

These receipt printers mainly use 80mm width paper rolls. No ink is required. One sample paper roll is included with each printer. Some models are supplied with an adjusting guide to also support 58mm width paper rolls. Portable/Mobile printers generally use 57/58 mm width thermal rolls of either 30mm, 40mm or 57mm diameter.

Printer Configuration

In most cases you will need to configure the new receipt printer to work your POS software, unless you are simply replacing an existing printer that had factory settings. You will need to check what printer interface(s) your software supports. You may also need to obtain any required settings (such as Serial Port settings, OPOS driver name etc) from your software provider and set the IP address for networked printers.
